and just a few hours later you can see behind me a memorial is set up in their honor. >> she was very energetic. she was spunky and happy all the time. when i come over she would call me by my name and say let's play. >> reporter: she was doing what she did every day. she just left her preschool at parkview elementary and was walking to her aunt's house on blue field drive with her 2-year-old sister when everything changinged. >> a little girl got hit and killed and her aunt was also injured. >> reporter: police say the driver of the lexus suv crashed into eileen, her opt marie elaina and her 2-year-old sister arlette. eileen died inconstantly. died instantly. another aunt tells me she believes the driver was speeding because when she ran down the street her niece's

trapping a toddler inside. police say the driver and passenger barrowed the car when they found out a car was injured they took off running. the driver eventually showed up, but would not cooperate with police. the child was taken to hospital with moderate injuries and crews secured the building which is at risk of collapsing because of this crash. developing news now. the team of a 12-year-old cal -- the family of a 12-year-old calaveras family accused of killing his sister wants him back home. he is accused inside the family's want him released based on investigators. >> i should urge that. and it is so early in the case we don't know it is a possibility, but we hope it is. >> the boy is charged with second-degree murder. the authorities also released audio from the 9-1-1 call made

harassment prevention program is charged with sexual assault. he was suspended from all duties. he is under investigation for, quote, abusive sexual contact, assault and mal treatment of saw board nets. they were charged with sexual assault and removed from his job. he contacted the congresswoman jack we spear. she is urminging lawmakers -- urging lawmakers to do more saying congress has been an enabler of sexual assault by not demanding these cases are taken out of the chain of command. day three in a missing san francisco girl has turned up one hopeful clue. makayla lynch has a severe form of autism. she disappeared at her family's vacation home. today they are hanging on to a new piece of evidence. now the story from lake county. >> as dive teams combed the marshes, video that was shot

is generating new hope in the search for 9-year-old makayla lynch. it sent searchers in a different direction tonight. police say the video was shot on sunday shortly after she disappeared, and it shows makayla walking away from these marshes that are behind her home. makayla's family asked us not to show the video of their unloathed -- unclothed daughter. she is autistic and it makes it even more difficult. >> we have somebody that will not respond to the normal voice stimuli. she may not be able to walk across the street if she was in trouble or needed assistance and there was help across the street. >> that's why neighbors are being asked to check their immediate surroundings. >> looked around and looked around the deck. that's the only place it would be in the wood pile in the back. >> pretend she is playing hide and go seek and just look in every possible spot she could be in. >> more than 100 searchers have covered 10 square miles so far and tomorrow at daybreak they will be back at it.

alan wang, abc7 news. a man died in a house fire late had too after getting trapped inside the home. sky 7hd was over the house in dahl tree -- daltry way. it is east of interstate 680. one firefighter was injured and is expected to be okay. and a san hoy say -- a san jose high school student is accused of stabbing another student in a fight. sky 7hd shows the bus stopped at the intersection of bereyessa road. the injured student suffered nonlife-threatening wounds. the america's cup will go on despite the deadly crash. sky 7hd was overhead after the team from sweden overturned their 72-foot catamaran on thursday. olympic gold medal list andrew simpson was killed and a six-person panel will conduct a safety review and they will decide if the race or practice runs need changes. angelina jolie is getting praise after announcing that

she had a double mastectomy. jolie wrote that she has a mu take in her genes called bracha1 that greatly increases her chance of developing cancer. her double mastectomy reduced the chance by 90%. stars who battle cancer like roseanne cash publicly commended her for her courage. one of this year's miss america candidates who plans to get a double mastectomy says jolie is an inspiration. >> she is incredibly courageous for coming out saying i don't feel any less of a woman. it is a daunting process, but yet it is taking away the fear of having to look over your shoulder for the rest of your life. joy jolie completed -- >> jolie completed eight months of procedures on april 27th. sandhya patel has a look at the weather. >> i hear it is changing a bit. >> it is. a look from our camera and it is pretty clear. temperatures in the 50s. mountain view 61 degrees. bundle up when you leave home tomorrow morning.

questions tonight about a well known charity with a unique mission. locks of love collects hair from donors and uses it to make wigs for children facing medical conditions. tonight as abc7 news reporter john alston explains, locks of love can't account for millions of dollars worth of donated hair. after growing her hair out for months she sat down in san francisco to do something nice. she had it cutoff for locks of love. a charity that makes hairpieces for children who have con dyingses like alopecea. >> locks of love are for children. the wigs are made specifically for children. i am pretty healthy, why not do it? it is for a good cause. >> a nonprofit investor

charity watchdog group is now raising questions about how much of the donated hair is actually made into wigs. the group says locks of love recedes 104,000 donations a year and only 317 wigs were produced in 2011. >> we are not making a judgment one way or another. what we are saying though is the amount of hair unaccounted for is $6 million every year. >> once donors have their haircut it is sent to locks of love in florida. according to a nonprofit investor the wigs are produced at taylor made hair relays meant based in this building in millbrae. the report says the company manufactures the wigs for the wholesale price of $1,000 each. but most of the donated hair is unusable because it was bleached or too short. but even so, the watchdog organization says based on information from the charity it can't account for numerous hair donations. >> human hair is extremely available.

>> so despite the questions, she is happy about her good deed. >> it feels so good. my share is short now. >> we tried to reach locks of love several times and we did not hear back from the charity. according to the watchdog group, locks of love provided 3,000 wigs over the years, but the charity does not count or maintain the lists of hair donations. in the newsroom, john alston, abc7 news. >> thank you. federal safety officials want to lower the limit on how much people can drink before they drive. the national transportation safety board unanimously voted to recommend the states lower the blood alcohol level from the current .08 standard to .05% for a woman weighing 140 pounds that's one drink an hour. any actual changes to the level are up to individual states. archaeologists are horrified that one of the largest myan pyramids has been

the view from the explore for yum camera and you are looking at coit tower and 53 in santa rosa and it is currently 57 in union city. as you check out the view from the high definition sutro camera you can see downtown san francisco and the bay bridge and the camera is a little bouncy and it is breezy out there. the clouds will increase tomorrow afternoon and a chance of showers on thursday. we are expecting cooler weather the next three days. temperatures are going down. take a look at some of the bay area cities here. santa rosa tomorrow afternoon and 75 and dropping to the low 70s for thursday and friday and oakland from 70 tomorrow to 65 by friday. as you look at san francisco, mid60s tomorrow and low 60s by thursday and friday. san jose going from 73 to the upper 60s. these temperatures will be running cooler than average for this time of year. here is what will bring the cooler weather. it is a cold front. much cooler weather anticipated thursday and friday.
